Do I need a combined autism and ADHD assessment?
Autism and ADHD often co-occur and share overlapping traits. A combined assessment helps differentiate the two, identify co-occurring presentations, and ensure you receive the most accurate diagnosis, support, and recommendations.
How do I know if I might have both autism and ADHD?
If you experience difficulties with attention, impulsivity, social interactions, sensory sensitivities, and emotional regulation, you may benefit from a combined assessment. People often seek this if they relate to traits from both conditions and want clarity.
What does AuDHD mean?
AuDHD is a term used to describe individuals who meet the criteria for both Autism and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. It recognises that these two neurodevelopmental conditions often overlap. People with AuDHD may experience:
- Sensory sensitivities (common in autism)
- Impulsivity or distractibility (common in ADHD)
- Difficulty with executive functioning (shared trait)
- Social challenges or masking behaviours
Each person’s experience of AuDHD is different, which is why a combined assessment helps identify the most accurate profile and support needs.
Can I have ADHD and autism if I did well in school or have a job?
Yes! Many neurodivergent adults are high achievers who mask their difficulties or have strengths that compensate for challenges. However, they may still experience:

- Trouble managing attention or sensory input

Can an autism and ADHD assessment be done online?
Yes, most of the assessment process can be completed via telehealth. In some cases, an in-person session may be recommended for observational purposes to ensure diagnostic accuracy.
How much does an autism and ADHD assessment cost?
Our combined Adult Autism & ADHD Assessment package is priced from $2,880. This includes all consultations, questionnaires, and your final report.
Do I need a GP referral for an autism and ADHD assessment?
No referral is required. However, if you plan to claim Medicare rebates for therapy sessions after the assessment, your GP can provide a Mental Health Treatment Plan.
