Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose a combined autism and ADHD assessment?

Autism and ADHD often co-occur and share overlapping traits. A combined assessment helps differentiate between the two, clarify complex presentations, and provide one integrated report, saving time and cost.

What are signs my child might need an autism and ADHD assessment?

Consider a combined assessment if your child:

• Has trouble focusing, sitting still, or managing impulses
• Struggles with social interactions, sensory overload, or communication
• Becomes overwhelmed in group settings or with changes in routine
• Has high emotional sensitivity or difficulty regulating feelings

What is included in an autism and ADHD assessment?

Our comprehensive package includes:

  • Developmental and diagnostic interviews (MIGDAS-2 + ACE)
  • Parent and teacher input
  • Cognitive testing (optional)
  • Executive functioning assessment (Brown EF/A Scales)
  • Observational assessments (MIGDAS-2, CARS-2)
  • School or kindergarten observation
  • Adaptive behaviour assessment (Vineland-3)
  • Social/emotional/behavioural questionnaires (SRS-2, Conners-CBRS, Conners 4)
  • Feedback session and full report with recommendations and diagnosis (if applicable)
Can autism and ADHD overlap in children?

Yes. Children can have traits of both conditions. For example, they might be highly distractible or talkative (ADHD) but also need routine and struggle with social cues (autism). Our assessment ensures each area is evaluated clearly.

What if my child doesn’t meet criteria for both conditions?

Even if your child doesn’t receive both diagnoses, the assessment will highlight relevant strengths and support needs and offer strategies tailored to their profile.

How much does an autism and ADHD assessment cost?
